KeniconSys is an Icon Artist document (or ResEdit, or iContraption) containing the cool System icons (and a few stock ones for fillers) that I use for my System icons.
Apple's stock ones are plain, but mine are not TOO fancy. Mine are just modernized.
The folder icon Apple uses is semi 2 dimensional. It has the outline of a folder but the resemblence ends there. All they did was take their old B/W ones and put in a lavender checker pattern and a few purple lines.
Mine looks more like a folder! It's taller to allow the folder appearence and shadowing, yet leave exactly the right amound of room to paste in the small color icons of applications for use in creating custom folder icons (see Kenicon 2.7 for examples).
The generic application and DA icons are improved by an updated hand. I got the hand from some PD icons, the artist of which I forgot whom it was. But if he sees these he will know that I have an eye for quality and chose his for my modifications because he did it right! Thanks! You know who you are!
It's recommended you use Icon Artist, by Jonas Englund (BusJohnny@aol.com) to install these. IT'S MADE FOR INSTALLING SYSTEM ICONS EASILY AND RIGHT! There are three icons Icon Artist won't swap for you: the "modem" and "printer" port ones and the "external microphone" one. This is because the originals do not have small icons in the families. My Icon Artist file DOES contain small icons for these, which is why they show up in the Icon Artist "from" window. Just skip them. The only reason I added them is to determine this, later concurred with by Jonas. Add these to your System with iContraption.
iContraption would be my second choice for the total installation of the set. It installs compressed and the icons show after restart (no DeskTop rebuild).
